How to Disable Sleep Mode in Amazon Fire TV

Unfortunately, there’s no built-in setting to disable the sleep mode on your Amazon Fire TV.

When you press the power button, it enters ‘Sleep mode,’ staying on and using electricity.

Sometimes, the TV also enters the sleep mode every 5 or 10 minutes.

Despite user requests, this feature hasn’t been added yet, and there’s no information on when Amazon might introduce it.

A reader reached out to us, saying:

“So basically, it’s always in sleep mode unless unplugged? I use it in my office connected to my PC for sim games. Even when not in use by the PC, it shows ‘on’ in Windows. Unlike a turned-off TV, this one, when restarted, remains connected. I love the TV but dislike this feature. Thanks for the info!”

The only solution is to unplug your TV when you’re not using it to stop it from consuming electricity.

It may not be ideal, but currently, it’s the only option available.

How to Stop Amazon Fire TV from going into sleep mode automatically?

This is also impossible.

Since you can’t disable the Sleep timer mode, you can’t actually prevent it from going into sleep mode automatically.

However, there are some possible workarounds that you can try, such as:

  • Using a third-party app that keeps the screen awake, such as Wakey or Stay Alive.
  • Enabling the developer options and setting the Stay awake option to On. To do this, go to Settings > My Fire TV > About > Developer options and turn on Stay awake

Hope this helps.
