Why is Hisense TV not supporting HEVC x265 files?

If your Hisense TV does not support HEVC x265 files, it is likely that your TV model does not support the new HEVC (H.265) video compression method.

Hisense TVs only support MP4, MKV, and AVI video formats, but the video codec should be MPEG-4, MPEG-2, and MPEG-1.

To solve this issue:

  • Use a 4K video converter to convert 4K H.265 movies to common videos, such as H.264 MP4, which is supported by nearly all playable devices
  • Encode/re-encode the incompatible video files into Hisense TV-supported formats using video encoding tools such as Handbrake, Freemake, and Format Factory.
  • Install the Plex Media Server on a computer or other compatible device where you store the HEVC x265. Install the Plex app on the smart TV and then you can start to view HEVC files on smart TVs from LG, Samsung, Hisense, VIZIO, and Roku
  • Make sure the USB stick has a sufficient read speed for the H.265 videos you want to play on a TV

Note that different Hisense TV models may have different supported video formats and codecs.

So, check the product or user manual for the supported media file types.
